Nicole Griffin Photography Featured in Professional Photographers of America (PPA) Magazine
When I picked up my camera, I never imagined my work would be recognized by the Professional Photographers of America (PPA)—an industry leader that sets the standard for photographers across the country. But this year, that’s exactly what happened: I was featured in Professional Photographer magazine for the way I create empowering, safe, and transformative boudoir sessions.
And let me tell you, this isn’t just a “win” for me. It’s a win for every woman who has ever walked into my studio feeling nervous, self-conscious, or unsure, and walked out glowing with confidence.
Why This PPA Feature Matters
Being highlighted by Professional Photographer isn’t about bragging rights. It’s about validation.
Validation that boudoir photography is more than just lingerie and pretty pictures. It’s about safety, empowerment, and rewriting the way women see themselves.
But here’s the part that makes this feature extra special: it’s rare to see three Black boudoir photographers featured together in the pages of a national magazine. Representation matters. Our presence in this article wasn’t just about photography, it was about showing women of color that they are seen, valued, and celebrated in this industry.
On top of that, all three of us were named among the Top 10 Black Boudoir Photographers in the United States. That’s a recognition I hold with pride, because it means women who look like me, and women who often feel invisible in conversations about beauty, are finally getting the spotlight they deserve.
What I Shared About Boudoir Photography
In the feature, I talked about how boudoir changed my life as a photographer.
How I was first intimidated by the genre, until I attended a workshop and realized boudoir wasn’t about perfection—it was about truth.
How photographing a friend after her divorce opened my eyes to the healing power of this work. She cried when she saw her images because she finally saw herself as beautiful again.
How I intentionally use lighting, conversation, and trust to help women feel safe and celebrated.
This is the story I carry into every session: boudoir isn’t about hiding flaws—it’s about helping you see the beauty that’s been there all along.
What This Means for You
Yes, being featured in PPA is an honor. But more than that, it’s a reminder for you.
If the national photography community recognizes the power of boudoir to create safe spaces and transformations, then why not you?
Why not give yourself the same chance to cry happy tears, to see yourself in a new light, to finally quiet that voice in your head that says you’re not enough?
This feature is proof that boudoir is no longer niche, hidden, or “just for other women.” It’s respected. It’s celebrated. And it’s waiting for you.
Ready to Celebrate Yourself?
I’m honored to share this recognition with you because you’re the reason I do this work.
You deserve to be seen, celebrated, and reminded of your worth—not just in a magazine, but in your own life.
Spots are limited, but your confidence? That’s limitless.
